For Awasi Santa Catarina, the ocean is where the experience begins. For La Mer, it has always been the same. That shared connection is what brought these two names together and what makes this partnership feel like something that was always meant to exist.
Where La Mer begins
Dr. Max Huber came to the sea looking for relief. After suffering severe burns in a laboratory accident, he found his refuge in the water and in the giant sea kelp that grew there. What followed was a 12-year journey, more than 6,000 experiments, and the discovery of a biofermentation process that unlocked the kelp’s transformative power.
Giving back to the ocean
Giant sea kelp grows in the crystalline waters of Vancouver Island, absorbing the ocean’s nutrients such as vitamins K, A, C and E, alongside magnesium, calcium, iron, and antioxidants. Today, more than 95% of La Mer’s marine plants are harvested responsibly, moving through four steps before reaching the skin: collection, preservation in natural form, and up to four months of bioenergetic fermentation, releasing the self-regenerating properties found in every La Mer product.

At Awasi Santa Catarina
Within our Wellness Center, guests are invited to experience La Mer treatments exclusive to Awasi the brand’s only hotel collaboration in Brazil. The Bespoke Facial, a personalized 60-minute ritual designed to sculpt, soothe and restore radiance, and the Eye & Scalp Treatment, focused on tension release, circulation and skin renewal.
