Finding themselves in the vast expanses of Southern Patagonia with hardly a soul in sight, our team at Awasi Patagonia spent the winter months of 2020 (June-September) exploring some of the area’s less trodden paths. They have created these three videos encapsulating the change of season and showing some of the secluded places we love to visit.

The Valley of Wild Horses

Whilst hidden wetlands provide shelter to flocks of birds, wild horses gallop across the thawing landscape of Sierra Baguales. This is untamed Patagonia, as it was seen by the pioneers 150 years ago.

Spring in Patagonia

As the sun’s warm embrace spreads slowly across the land, spring is taking root. A new cycle begins.

Vega Castillo Wetland – The Birdwatcher’s Bonanza

A secret spot in Torres del Paine National Park, teaming with birdlife. There are 130 bird species found in the area and almost 85% of them can be found in these wetlands.

Awasi Patagonia is the world’s southernmost Relais & Chateaux lodge. We value taking our guests off the beaten track, showing them Patagonia in all its true untouched beauty. For that reason, each of the 14 villas at Awasi Patagonia have their own private guide and personal 4×4 vehicle.
