Torres del Paine is an adventurer’s paradise, so how long should you give to appreciating the enormity of a park that spans an area of 180,000 hectares?

All the 14 villas at Awasi Patagonia have views of the iconic “towers” of Torres del Paine mountain range

Awasi Patagonia’s private reserve overlooks the imposing mountains and glassy lakes of Torres del Paine National Park in Chilean Patagonia.

Some people have the park’s most famous hike, the W Trek, on their bucket list. This hike follows a W shaped route to see the most famous sights and involves a 31-mile walk up and down the valleys, and can be done in sections whilst staying at Awasi Patagonia, or in one go staying at refugios or camping – that way you truly appreciate your villa when you arrive at Awasi Patagonia.

Awasi Patagonia, Relais & Chateaux

Upon arrival at our Relais & Chateaux lodge, guests are introduced to their private guide who will devise a tailor made itinerary, depending on the weather (which can be erratic!) and your personal interests and requirements. We run full and half day excursions into Torres del Paine – hike, bike or jump on a horse – the challenge will be deciding how to choose between all the many options on offer.

Hiking in Patagonia

An excellent way of experiencing this extraordinary part of the world is by taking to some of the park’s fantastic trails, choosing between easy, moderate and more challenging routes. Prepare to be awed by photo opportunities aplenty, absorbing the vast, rugged beauty of the Patagonian landscape.

There are mountains, scenic glacial lakes, cascading waterfalls, awe-inspiring birdlife such as condors and herds of llama-like guanacos to spot and remember to keep your eyes peeled for the elusive puma. Those in search of a tougher expedition will enjoy the renowned base of the towers, an iconic Patagonian attraction; or a trek to the Grey Glacier lookout.

The Vega Castillo Wetland provides astonishing birdwatching opportunities – it is one of the park’s hidden treasures, remaining inaccessible to the majority of visitors – while the Aonikenk trail provides spectacular scenic vistas with a glimpse into the culture of the indigenous Aonikenk people.

Our Relais & Chateaux lodge is located in a private reserve on the edge of Torres del Paine National Park and consists of a main lodge and 14 private villas. Each villa is assigned six staff, an experienced private guide and a 4WD vehicle, allowing you the flexibility to spend your holiday exactly as you wish.

Each room at Awasi Patagonia has a wood-fuelled hot tub overlooking Torres del Paine

After a day of exploring, return to the comfort of your villa with its woodburning stove and hot tub, before enjoying exceptional cuisine prepared using the finest, freshest, locally sourced ingredients.
