“Expect to make friends round the firepit and bar and there’s also a pool which kids love,” writes Sam Bradley for Family Traveller Magazine following his stay at Awasi Atacama, our Relais & Chateaux lodge in Northern Chile.
It’s important to note that all three Awasi lodges receive children of ten years and above.
This is because our small, intimate hotels and are located in areas of high altitude (Atacama) or with long distances (Patagonia), and our guests come to enjoy being immersed in nature and trying delicious local cuisine.
“Every suite is beautifully crafted out of stone, cactus wood, thatch and adobe,” writes Bradley.
“More like cottages than standard hotel suites, they all have private patios as well and indoor and outdoor showers.”
This is not the first press piece that has been infatuated by our desert showers: Awasi was named among Hotels With the Dreamiest Outdoor Showers by Travel + Leisure.
From private excursions to a world of new flavours to discover…
“…you probably won’t spend too much time in your suite,” writes Bradley, “because if the activities don’t tempt you then the food definitely will.”
“Many chefs claim their secret ingredient is love, Juan Pablo Mardones means it literally as sous-chef, Maureen, is also his wife.”
Juan Pablo and Maureen have been a team since our lodge first opened, they are always developing and discovering new flavours to serve to our guests.
Time & Space
To finish, Bradley circles in on the Awasi concept: “Awasi champions time and space as the ultimate luxuries, and succeeds at using both magnificently.”
Ultimately, this is why we allocate a private guide and vehicle to each room.
Whether travelling as a family, couple, with high fitness levels or physical challenges, the Awasi structure of each room having tailor made excursions means you can enjoy your vacation to the full.
