Relais & Chateaux acknowledges that sustainability intentions must become tangible, clear, and measurable actions. With that in mind, the 12 commitments are designed to pursue three major missions:

Individual commitments in this area include focusing on promoting the richness of the many different hospitality cultures around the world, supporting interactions with local communities, producers and suppliers, and engaging with local stakeholders to foment an appreciation for the essential roles that the environment, food and cuisine play in supporting our health and the health of the planet.
Awasi Iguazu chefs have pioneered the use of jejya in their cooking. Growing jejya is a method of preserving the rainforest.
Protecting Biodiversity
Situated in areas of exceptional natural beauty, Awasi partners with conservation projects to protect ecosystems like the Atlantic Rainforest. By sourcing ingredients sustainably and promoting regenerative agriculture, our chefs create cuisine that celebrates the biodiversity of each region.
Commitments encourage, amongst others, the support of local efforts to protect biodiversity in both our terrestrial and marine environments, and developing regenerative agriculture efforts in partnership with local authorities and NGOs.
