Created during her residency at Awasi Iguazu, this multimedia installation explores themes of time, transformation, and our relationship with the natural world.<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rich-text-quote\">\n<p class=\"rich-text-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: center\">\u201cThe Guaran\u00ed concept of time is circular, not linear. In their worldview, the past, present, and future exist simultaneously. This understanding completely changed how I approach my work.\u201d \u2013 Iliana D\u00edaz L\u00f3pez<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"rich-text-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: center\">D\u00edaz L\u00f3pez, a multimedia artist from Paraguay, came to Awasi Iguazu specifically to engage with Guaran\u00ed communities and learn about their cosmovision. The title of her work, \u201cAra Pyau,\u201d refers to the Guaran\u00ed concept of cyclical renewal \u2013 a new time that is also a return.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"rich-text-h2\" style=\"text-align: center\">Cultural Collaboration<\/h2>\n<p class=\"rich-text-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: center\">Working closely with Guaran\u00ed elders and artists, D\u00edaz L\u00f3pez spent weeks learning traditional songs, stories, and ritual practices. These cultural exchanges deeply influenced the final installation, which incorporates field recordings of Guaran\u00ed chants, video projections of sacred sites, and sculptural elements made from forest materials.<\/p>\n<p class=\"rich-text-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: center\">The installation creates an immersive environment where visitors pass through a series of \u201cportals\u201d \u2013 circular structures made from woven branches and vines. Each portal represents a different aspect of time and transformation, with sounds and images that shift as viewers move through the space.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"rich-text-h2\" style=\"text-align: center\">Environmental Message<\/h2>\n<p class=\"rich-text-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: center\">\u201cThe Guaran\u00ed have always understood that harming the forest means harming ourselves,\u201d D\u00edaz L\u00f3pez explains. \u201cTheir concept of \u2018tek\u00f3 por\u00e3\u2019 \u2013 living well \u2013 is about maintaining harmony between all beings. This is the wisdom we need for our current environmental crisis.\u201d<\/p>\n<blockquote class=\"rich-text-quote\">\n<p class=\"rich-text-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: center\">\u201cArt can be a bridge between worldviews, a way of translating indigenous knowledge into forms that speak to contemporary audiences.\u201d \u2013 Iliana D\u00edaz L\u00f3pez<\/p>\n<\/blockquote>\n<p class=\"rich-text-paragraph\" style=\"text-align: center\">The installation\u2019s power lies in its ability to make abstract concepts tangible.
